Dr. Paolo Poidmore is a Sacramento-area native and graduate of Jesuit High School. After completing four years of undergraduate studies, four years of dental training, and 3 years of orthodontic training, Dr. Poidmore returned to his hometown to start his career. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of San Diego in 2002. Dr. Poidmore then attended the University of Southern California where he received his dental degree in 2006, and finally he received his orthodontic specialty training at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
Traditional metal braces are the most common types of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.
Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts.
Invisalign offers a cutting-edge approach to orthodontics by using a series of custom-made, invisible aligners. Using 3D computer imaging, each aligner is specific to your teeth and gradually and gently shifts your teeth into place. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re wearing the aligners, so you can smile with confidence, both during and after your treatment.
